Mosaic Conference for Intersectionality

Carnegie Mellon University

March 22, 2024

At the Mosaic Conference for Intersectionality, which has, for over 25 years, invited participants to engage in critical community conversations about societal and political contexts, healer Almah LaVon led a transformative workshop titled "Wor(l)dcraft as Dreamwork." This workshop encouraged participants to honor writing as a tool for summoning our collective future and harnessing the power of individual imagination.

LaVon guided attendees through a series of writing exercises and prompts designed to explore how writing can serve as an imaginarium for creating the world to come and a playground for prefigurative politics. Participants delved into various dreaming states, using their insights to inspire visionary activism and seed possibilities for collective liberation. This workshop was a profound journey into the intersection of creativity and social change, empowering participants to re-engage with their humanity and envision a better future.
